‘Back up the train’

Jai Maa, Jai Gurudeva!

Thank you Sadhvi Ishani for leading us through the samsara teaching. I appreciated and gleaned so many insights from your simple comment ‘Whoa, back up the train’.  Please forgive if this concept has already been cited at some point-I’m sure it has, and perhaps that’s why the visual came to me so immediately, but what a vivid depiction!  I saw the raga, dvesha, shoka, krodha and moha cycle as fueling a runaway train full of momentum and destructive power. It naturally points to the directed, conscious, and sustained effort needed to slow it down-patience too-samsara is likely not going to stop on a dime, but hopefully it loses it’s destructive momentum once we bring it under more conscious control. Finally and so beautifully, it very viscerally illustrates the deep peace, stillness, and pure potential residing in that train at rest-no raga or dvesha to power it.

It just now occurred to me, if we were to then actually back it up, as in your statement, it might represent the potential to reverse and clean up some karma.  Anticipation for teachings to come!!  Fun exercise -thank you!🤩

Thank you Anjali for sharing this vivid description of the runaway power of our attachments and what it would look and feel like to slow and finally bring to rest that cycle. These images that strike us and come up when we contemplate are so powerful and I find they often come to help us in daily life when we need them most... Yes, when we notice it's time to take control of and back up the train!
