Shadow to Self S02E03: Not a Teacher, A Guru
Jai Maa and Jai Guru Deva!
Today's episode of Acharya Shunya's Shadow to Self podcast "Not a Teacher, A Guru" is now up on YouTube (it will soon be available on all podcast streaming services).
With AI data-scraping all intellectual property and information off the internet, devouring and regurgitating pieces of human creativity and wisdom back at us, there is an implication that all teachers will be made obsolete. And yet, teachers are so much more than automatons repeating facts back to us, they guide and shape our understanding of the world! Then there are a few special souls that go far beyond building our intellect and knowledge base. They challenge our very understanding of reality, and embody the truth of the Self. Their presence and guidance forever changes us. These special teachers are called Guru.
In this episode Acharya Shunya ji clarifies the differences between a Teacher and a Guru, the Vedic qualities of a guru, and why the presence of a Guru in one's life is so important on the path of Self Realization. She also shares personal reflections of her own experience with her Guru, Baba Ayodhyanath, and how this Guru-Shishya relationship lit a fire that purified her own ego.
Please enjoy!

Jai Maa
So grateful for a living breathing conscious human teacher. Who confronts and challenges! Jai Guru Dev! Jai Shunyaji!
As you say AI is not a teacher but a stealer of bits of data with no soul. May humanity soon discern the difference! Or at least some of us so that humanity is not completely lost!
