Sitting with this week's Brahman contemplations

Preparing for the last session on Brahman, I reviewed many times the recorded Satsanga from Acharya Shunya that we watched together.

[The recording of the "Introduction to Brahman" session is now up on the playlist here if you were not with us live.]

To support my contemplation over the past few weeks, I placed a card on my altar with the three key defining words of Brahman: Satyam, Gnanam, Anantam.

My practice has been: When I go there each morning, I whisper the word, remember its meaning, and let each word reverberate in my being, just allowing it to call out to that inner presence. Letting It know that I know it exists and reaffirming that I’m orienting my life journey to rediscover it within.

How are you familiarizing yourself with “Satyam Gnanam Anantam Brahma” or any of the other descriptors of Brahman we were given in the satsanga?

Thank you, Sadhvi Ishani, for sharing your practice as a way of supporting contemplation of Brahman.

An exercise I have practiced that seems to touch on these essences of Brahman (which I didn't have these words for prior to watching this Satsanga) is the following: Sitting in silence, I allow my consciousness to experience my body and then slowly work its way outward, from the space in the room where I sit, all the way out into the Universe, as far I as I can conceive and then still further. Next, I slowly come back to my physical form and then begin going inside of myself. I continue to go deeper and deeper until the space I feel seems as expansive as the Universive itself. Then I come back to my body and allow this experience to resonate. In doing this practice, I get a sense of the feeling that I am not my body and mind but am all of space, both outward and inward, without limit. This practice seems to invoke Gnanam, and allows for an experience of Anantam, which in turn offers a glimpse of Satyam, and of Brahma. I would appreciate any insight and advice you or others might offer in regards to this type of excercise.

Once again, thank you for these wonderful Key Vedanta Concepts Satsangas. They have proven to be invaluable.
