Happy Makar Sankranti from Acharya Shunya!

Jai Maa Dear Ones,

Today is a very special day for Vedic lineages, known as Makar Sankranti, it is traditional to begin Vedic studies on January 14th each year, when the Sun embarks on its Uttarayan (northern course).  We at Vedika celebrate this cosmic event with some special observances from our own lineage. On this auspicious day of Makar Sankranti, we will worship the Sun as the source of all life and health, and as our indwelling Soul; offer dana (donation, charity) of wholesome food and money to help others in need; and eat Khichadi as a purifying food. The Sun is the inexhaustible storehouse and the source of light and energy. Today is a perfect opportunity to turn your head and attention towards the LIGHT.

@Acharya Shunya has shared some beautiful videos from India this morning to begin our celebrations (see below), and we will come together tonight in satsang with Sadhvi Ishani to chant and joyfully welcome the turn of the Sun. Enjoy these chants from @Acharya ji!

Love and LIGHT,

Sadhvi Aparna
