Gayatri mantra
So ive been saying this mantra for years and just finding out you need “diksha” for this does mataji give a ruling on this?

Thank you @Travis Gunn for your question. Gayatri Mantra is one of, if not the most, well-known Vedic mantras, and as Acharya Shunya shares, it is chanted by everyone from age 2 to 200 in India! There are no prohibitions for learning or chanting Gayatri mantra for anyone. It is conveyed for education purposes (shiksha) and for transformation (diksha), and you may even come upon it on your own and still benefit. That said, there are levels to Gayatri initiation. In most Vedic Gurukula, the Guru will initiate students with diksha of Gayatri Mantra. If you have not yet experienced Acharya Shunya's Gayatri Mantra teachings live, I highly recommend signing up for the next 4 part workshop in March 2026. This is the first level of deepening Gayatri Sadhana. If you have been chanting on your own for years, or are brand new to this mantra, you will benefit.
