Oh, Mangalum!
Last night's class was such a gift. "This week's theme is mantras for our morning practice - starting with a prayer to our lit lamp, and culminating with a chant from the oral tradition that boldly evokes Divine Truth in every particle of the universe."
For those who missed it and from a slide in the class: Mangalum - Auspicious. Beneficial. Harmonious. Aligned with Ultimate Truth. Conducive to well-being. Positive energy that supports spiritual growth and wellbeing.
Refers to something that is blessed, favorable, or beneficial, often invoking divine or cosmic goodwill. It can denote the presence of psitive energy that supports spiritual growth and well-being.
I share the above because the Mangalum chant came to me today and like last night I felt giddy and filled with joy and inspiration.
"The renewal of creation at every moment is a wonder, an opportunity,
as if my life just started over again.
Every breath brings a new moment, new perspective, new meaning.
I strive for equanimity, to know there is no distinction.
No difference in this outer reality and the reality of Ishvara.
All is appropriate in the eyes of Ishvara, may it be so for me.
All that comes to be is beneficial according to this wisdom,
not what might seem beneficial according to my perspective.
Ishvara knows what is truly good for me, may I surrender to everything
that comes to me, everything that happens.
May I not argue. If something is sent to me it is appropriate.
May it not matter what others say about me or
what is placed on my plate.
What seems good, may be harmful, so may I cast my lot –
Every matter and every need- upon Ishvara.
May my service in all ways, words and deeds be committed to Ishvara.
May I have the insight to see and know this truth.
May I constantly aspire toward equanimity recognizing
that everything is sent by Ishvara.
May everything be equal in my eyes.
I have only a momentary and fleeting vision
of when watching how a leaf blows in the wind
and arrives at its place that faith in this Divine force
orchestrating all of life seems elemental.
Thank you Sadhvi Ishani for teaching and sharing Mangalum and all the blessings!
Beautiful to hear how you are experiencing Mangalam blossoming everywhere!
