Leadership in Clinical Field

Due to her dedication to her Vedic lineage, and academic brilliance demonstrated, Vimala was offered an adjunct faculty position at Vedika Global, where she developed and led Vedika Global's Awakening Health Clinic Training and Public Health offering from 2015-2019. During her time, Vaidya Vimala trained and graduated more than 60 students in Ayurvedic Clinical Medicine from Vedika Global’s 2.5-year Specialists Diploma in Ayurveda Prevention Medicine & Public Health.

Second Teacher: Alchemy Through Ayurveda

Since 2019, Vimala is serving in the crucial role of assistant teacher next to Acharya Shunya in the award-winning Alchemy through Ayurveda course offered by Awakened Self Foundation - a sister concern of Vedika Global. Vaidya Vimala plays a central role in ensuring the success of all enrolled students by representing Acharya Shunya’s lineage teachings, and her Awakening Health Model in all its depth and expanse. She answers student questions that arise from watching the videos, clarifies concepts and principles that need extra explanations over a private student community forum, and leads popular student gatherings through the monthly online Ayurveda Learners Sangha’s (live teachings and Sanskrit chanting from Ayurveda’s source texts).

The Background: What Brought Vimala to Ayurveda

Vimala became a patient of Acharya Shunya in 2006, after she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (2004). After meeting her teacher, she immediately knew studying Ayurveda was her path back to health and balance. She soon became a devoted student to both Ayurveda and to her teacher’s Vedic lineage. As her health stabilized and improved, her devotion to Ayurveda deepened. She became passionate about giving back and helping others receive what she was gifted by her teacher- the knowledge that changes lives.

Vimala lives in the SF Bay Area with her husband Richard and her cats and chickens. She loves spending time with her extended family and is looking forward to sharing Ayurveda practices with her grandson. She is passionate about spending time in nature, gardening, camping by the Yuba river, biking and cooking for her teachers, family and lineage circle of friends and co-students.
