Sadhana Chatushtayam

Sadhana Chatushtaya cultivates discrimination, detachment, virtues, and a yearning for liberation

Sadhana Chatushtaya, the "Fourfold Spiritual Discipline," is a foundational framework in Advaita Vedanta for those seeking liberation. It consists of:

Viveka – Discrimination between the real (Brahman) and the unreal (the world of illusion).
Vairagya – Detachment from worldly desires and attachments.
Shatsampat – Six virtues, including calmness, self-control, forbearance, concentration, faith, and the ability to meditate.
Mumukshutva – A deep yearning for liberation, or the intense desire for self-realization and freedom from samsara.

These disciplines, when practiced with devotion and sincerity, lead the seeker to the ultimate truth.

Recommendation: These practices are advanced and recommended for Sadasyas growing from  Kumbhika (small sturdy plant of discipleship), into Sadhya (shade giving tree), and are not intended for Beejas (seeds) or Ankurs (starting out)  sadasyas.
