Profound teachings from Karma yoga
Jai Maa,
The gratitude I have for being part of this kula and parampara is great!
I am deeply grateful to our Acharya for her systematic, spiritual and heart-led teachings on Karma yoga. These teachings feel like a homecoming.
I have been contemplating Tuesday's session and the description of the ego as "the phantom master" landed deep in my heart and my mind. The description of how the ego mistakes itself as the master of the machine that is actually being fully run by Ishvara solidified my years of learning and searching for my true self. I have been practicing directing my actions to Ishvara and seeing what comes back to me as Ishvara, but there is a clarity I got listening to this class. I had the thought that since Ishvara is the true actor to align with then we need to offer everything to the one seated within otherwise we get distracted by the ego and forget he is just the phantom. So, this offering is not just a practice, but a recalibration, a reminder and a "plugging in" to the actual source not a backup generator.
The concept of selflessnes as an emptying of what is not real (ego) provided me with a physical release. Our teacher shared words that have been soothing my heart all week "when you remove (ego) there with be space to act from your true self." I felt a sense of relief when our teacher suggested we take our egos hand and knock on the door of Ishvara.
Her words are so inspiring and hopeful to me. I am grateful for the blessings of Ishvara that come through these teachings. I am feeling what our teacher shared which is that somewhere deep inside my soul knows these lessons and is grateful for being welcomed home.
Jai Gurudev.
