Early morning contemplation ...

Jai Maa everyone,

It is early morning in my part of the planet, and a few minutes ago I sat in meditation the way our dear teacher recommended in yesterday's session (Bhaja Govindam), keeping my mind on Ishvara and letting it melt in being with the divine. Such experience is indescribable to me in words ... I had a glimpse of my ego shutting down for a very short while, and I feel it is very healing for me. As I was writing after my practice, I remembered - seemingly out of nowhere - a piece of poetry I had memorized many years ago, as a teenager in middle school. At that time, we were taught these gems of Sufi writings, though the emphasis was not on their profound spiritual meaning but rather on their value as great literary achievements in Persian literature. I see my sudden recalling of it as a beautiful consequence of practicing to keep my mind on Ishvara. Here is my own translation of that piece of poetry:

I delight in whom the whole world delights in;

I am in utter love with the whole world since the whole world emanates from it.

It is by Saadi Shirazi. Now, attending satsangs with our amazing teacher for just a few months, as I contemplate the teachings I have recieved, I understand the first line as a state of experiencing Ananda, and the second line as Bhakti. This makes me very happy. I wanted to share it with you, my dear spiritual companions. And I express my deeply felt gratitude to Shunyaji 🙏🏼❤️
