What is this per the Vedas?
Jai Maa beautiful community!
Since joining this Study Circle there have been times in contemplation where I have seen and felt light. And other times in my life as well.
Occasionally, I see and feel a deep darkness. It doesn't feel bad. It feels full and comforting. Quiet and soothing. Vast like the night sky and deep like the ocean.
Do the Vedas address this? What is it? Is it ok to focus on this?
❣️Just wanting some reassurance and understanding. ❣️

Jai Maa Anne, I'm not here to offer a definitive answer to what your experience 'means', ... But would like to add that your share makes me think of the 'fullness of emptiness', the space without shape and form that is simultaneously full of all possibilities of creation. The nothingness from which anything and everything emerges and dissolves back into. I find that kind of darkness quite comforting as well. If the experience feels quiet, soothing, comforting, and vast - then it is fine and safe to enjoy being enveloped in it. The time for concern is perhaps when it is a heaviness of Tamas - the kind of darkness that feels sinking, paralyzing, suffocating, numbing, nihilistic, depressing... that's not the divine darkness of infinite potential, it's something like the guna of heavy darkness that clouds the mind and causes confusion. What you are describing doesn't sound like that at all 🕉️
