I was so deeply moved by Acharya Shunya's message for Pitru Paksha and in an way of offering decided to spend a few minutes everyday over these 16 days to write.
I Am Because of You
My perfections,
my imperfections,
every cell entwined with your roots.
You hold me dearly—
celebrating my joys,
holding my pains.
I am because of you.
Your physical presence is no more,
yet your pains, your joys, your peace
all live here.
I see them.
I feel them.
I acknowledge them,
illuminating them with my heart’s light.
Rise, rise, rise,
my dearest grandparents,
into the golden light.
