In Praise of the Goddess Sarasvati
In her latest talk on karma yoga (#12 in series), Shunyaji mentions Sarasvati blooming in us. Through our prayers and intentions, may our outer and inner speech and song blossom freely.
Poem to Sarasvati
Hrim! Daughter of the mind of Brahma
Arisen from the great lake of enjoyment,
With your face as pure and white as the moon –
Goddess Sarasvati, to you I offer homage and praise!
****
Unending treasury of the secret words of the Vedas,
And the vast collection of the buddhas’ Dharma,
Reaching to the end of the path of deathlessness –
Glorious Lady of Melodies, to you I offer devoted praise!
These are the first 2 verses of a beautiful poem in praise of Sarasvati from a Tibetan Buddhist master. The poem is called The Sweet Sound of Perfect Joy. I hope to post one or two more verses from this poem to the forum each week this month. The author is Jamyang Khyentse Chokyi Lodro. Original written in Tibetan; translated by Adam Pearcey. Text freely available at Lotsawa House online. The Buddhists borrowed many deities and beautiful ideas from India, including Sarasvati. Enjoy!

beautiful words. Thank you for sharing with us, devi.
