Bhaja Govindam Companion Series #7 - The Value of Sat, Sangha & Guru

Jai Maa Dear Ones,

UPDATE: SESSION #7 NOW POSTED TO YOUTUBE HERE

We will be continuing with our Bhaja Govindam companion studies this Saturday, May 3rd, at 8:00am Pacific Time at the Zoom link below. You can also click directly on the link via the Member Portal 'All Sessions and Zoom Links' page.

During this Saturday's class we will begin to pick up the 'flowers' of Sat, Sangha, & Guru for seekers of the Self. While Adi Shankaracharya and his senior disciples brought the hammers home to guide us in letting go of samsaara, we are not left without guidance to move us more directly towards Govindam! With Ishwara's grace, we have support on this perilous journey, begining with Truth, Wise Community, and Enlightened Teacher. Join me tomorrow as we focus on Verses 9, 13, 30, 32 of the Bhaja Govindam, and also spend some time together in satsangha.

If you missed our last session, we dove into the ways in which our Senses can delude us, and lead us further astray in samsaara. You can find that recording uploaded to our YouTube channel in the Bhaja Govindam Companion Series playlist. If you have not yet experienced Acharya Shunya's original Bhaja Govindam teachings, please enjoy this Complete Bhaja Govindam of Adi Shankaracharya playlist.

I'm grateful for the video recordings of the contemplation study for when I can't make it in person. I enjoyed everybody's shares and the teachings by Sadhvi Aparna. I had three reflections that came to me upon watching the recording. The first was that I can vividly remember when one of the kula members asked a question in one of the sanghas that completely illuminated an idea to me that I had heard our teacher say that I had simply forgotten. But the way she posed the question completely reminded me of a concept that I have been able to return to over and over. The second reflection I had was that I have been finding myself less and less identified with my problems in Samahra and more identified with the truth. I have more experiences of remembering that I am not my problems, my brokenness, my samskara, my history, but I am actually sat-truth. And thirdly, the last contemplation in the video series about the word "care" and the reminder to take good care made me think about the goddess who is unconditionally caring for all of us. I thought about how releasing these attachments through these verses might require the kind of unconditional love that the goddess gives me. Thank you for the chance to reflect and contemplate.

Jai Maa.
